Last week's rains raised Hinckley Reservoir by 6 feet.

I had an E-note from John Cornelius in re: the little pond at the foot of Grant Hill - my favorite "rain gauge!" - and I'll have to follow up on his suggestion. "The "Pond," as it is still known, represents some history of the source of water and to who it feeds. I am sure it was W.A.Barker and Irving Donohoe, both deceased, that told me that that "Pond" can't ever be drained or touched. That was back in the late 50's and early 60's. When there was a scamper for any land to be used for beans, peas and corn. However that chunk of land has to remain as is for water reasons of some kind." And he suggested that I talk with Jr. Baker or his sister Artie. (Thanks, John!)

According to today's O-D, District Attorney Scott McNamara received some important endorsements,

over the weekend.

It was chilly, but at least it was sunny and dry on Saturday morning. There was a cheerful group of Brothertown Music Boosters at the schoolbus garage and ............

.........as early as 10:00, donations to their Bottle Drive were rolling right in!

*******

I love these cheery new "leaf bags!" These are on Stafford Avenue .....

......... and this smiling creature is on Barton Ave.

Elsewhere, Mother Nature is decorating out-of-the-way places: here, the doorway at the "Tyler Barn."

Boston and Cleveland, tied at one each, will play tonight at 7:00 in Cleveland!
