Saturday Morning

It's 56 degrees and soggy. It's been raining all night along.

WKTV's Update at 11 PM on Friday: Rain and mild conditions continue! We officially hit 59, tying the old record set in 1993. The rain should begin winding down overnight. Again, some sun is possible on Saturday morning/afternoon popping us to near or above 60.

We tied the record high for January 5th by hitting 59 degrees at the old Oneida County Airport. After 7 PM, we should know if we hit 60. Temperatures should not fall below 50 officially tonight. Many outlying areas will drop into the upper 40s. Rain is moving in this evening and will be steady to heavy at times overnight.

This will taper off to showers after sunrise on Saturday. Then the clouds will begin to break and southwest winds will kick up. It may seem like mid-spring out there with widespread 55-60 degree readings. Some areas may break 60 degrees tomorrow with enough sunshine. The record high of 58 degrees will be in jeopardy. After about 1-2 PM though, cooler air will begin being felt, so expect temperatures back to near 50 or in the upper 40s by sunset. A few scattered rain or even snow showers are possible Saturday night. But then high pressure nudges in here for Sunday, leading to sunny skies and highs 20 degrees cooler or so than Saturday...but still 10 degrees above normal...in the low 40s.

I only took one photograph, yesterday:

I had gone to the Kountry Kupboard to stock up on sugar-free cookies, and there - right in front of my car, amongst other of Earleys' nursery stock items - was a fine specimen of Salix discolor:

Pussy Willow!

Today's the day that the blogger and her family finally get to have their Christmas Gathering!
Dick will be here for the day and, if all goes as planned, will be checking out of Harding's on Monday.

I'll be a little busy, but if I see - or hear of - something really news-worthy, you'll find it here!

Have a good weekend, everyone!
